At CE3C, we have upheld a long-standing tradition of offering a comprehensive set of Advanced Courses each academic year since 2015.

These courses are designed to equip participants with cutting-edge knowledge and skills across a variety of ecological, evolutionary, and environmental topics. Taught by CE3C researchers and invited experts, they ensure that participants benefit from both in-depth academic insight and hands-on approaches.

Explore the Advanced Courses for the 2024-2025 academic year below. Links to courses from previous academic years are available further down the page.

Advanced Courses 2024-2025

CE3C is organising an exciting new series of Advanced Courses for the 2024-2025 academic year.

These Courses are particularly valuable for students in the first year of Doctoral Programmes at CIÊNCIAS (e.g. Biology), Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution (BIODIV, ULisboa and UPorto), Biology and Ecology of Global Changes (BEAG, ULisboa and UAveiro) and Sustainability Science (ULisboa and associated institutions). For these students, the courses are free of charge, provided they count towards credits* for their PhD Programme. The courses are also free for more advanced PhD students of the BIODIV programme.

These Advanced Courses are also open to post-graduate students from other Doctoral Programmes, Master’s students in Biology and related fields, and other individuals with a suitable background, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related areas.

Find below the detailed information on each course, including schedules, programme content, and registration details.

Stay tuned for more courses coming soon!

*Credit Recognition for PhD Students
First-year PhD students enrolled at CIÊNCIAS ULisboa, or those enrolled in joint PhD programmes with CIÊNCIAS (such as BIODIV, BEAG, and Sustainability Science) may be eligible for course credit recognition. Specifically, students can earn 1 ECT for every 6-7 hours of in-person classes. To receive this credit, participants must submit a mandatory final report, following the guidelines provided by the course instructors. This mandatory report is to be developed in the weeks following course attendance.
