FloraMac2025
FloraMac2025 - Call

We are pleased to announce that the 6th FloraMac International Symposium, FloraMac 2025, will be hosted by the Azorean Biodiversity Group (GBA-CE3C) (School of Agrarian and Environmental Sciences, University of the Azores) and will take place from September 22 to 26, 2025 in Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira, Azores, Portugal.
 

For five days (September 22, 23, 25 and 26) we will be able to discuss and present the latest, most updated research on Macaronesian flora in a friendly environment.
 

Besides a full day of Excursion, on the 24th of September, we will have oral presentations, poster sessions, and five lectures delivered by our invited Keynote speakers:

 

  • Carlos Góis-Marques (Madeira Botanical Group; University of Madeira; Portugal);
  • Isabel Sanmartin (Real Jardin Botanico, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Spain);
  • Jairo Patiño (Island Ecology and Evolution Research Group (GEEI); Instituto de Productos Naturales y Agrobiología (IPNA-CSIC); Spain);
  • Joana Barcelos e Ramos (Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Research and Technology, University of the Azores, Portugal); and
  • Severin Irl (Institute of Physical Geography at the Goethe-University Frankfurt, Germany).

During the Symposium there will be time for International Projects meetings and Networking and we will also provide an introductory course to Darwin Core and Data Paper production

Participants are cordially invited to contribute with oral presentations and posters. All communications will undergo a peer-review process.

  • Deadline for submission of abstracts: April 15, 2025
  • Deadline for “early bird” registration: June 30, 2025
  • Final registration deadline: September 12, 2025
