CE3C’s Communication Office is responsible for coordinating and implementing the communication strategy of the Centre.
It encompasses both internal and external communication efforts, and covers different domains, such as:
Institutional communication
Content development
Graphic design
Science communication
Media outreach
Public engagement
Event production and support
Photography and image edition
Social cohesion
The Communication Office is built on a strong theoretical framework, adhering to best practices in all its procedures. It is dedicated to tailoring both written and graphic content, channels, and activities to diverse target audiences and stakeholders. These include specialised groups – facilitating knowledge exchange, comradeship, and cohesion – and non-specialised groups, such as policymakers, students, various segments of the general public, and the media. The aim is not only to serve institutional purposes but also to contribute to scientific literacy, encourage critical thinking, and empower society to address issues in this sphere.
There is also a strong commitment to promote citizen science and related events, driven by in-house researchers dedicated to disseminating knowledge and engaging the public in this realm. Citizen science plays a crucial role at the Centre, both as a means to raise societal awareness and as a research field.
The collaboration with the National Museum of Natural History and Science stands as a continuous and invaluable partnership. This relationship thrives on the exchange of experiences and the joint development of initiatives, particularly exhibitions, which contribute to shared objectives. We believe that these collaborative efforts enhance the reach and impact of both institutions.
The local team is also enthusiastic about participating in and supporting projects aimed at advancing knowledge within the domains of activity, science communication for instance, sharing insights and information, as far as possible, to help achieve the desired outcomes.
Lastly, we express our gratitude to the CE3C Secretariat - Inês Almaça and Catarina Costa, with whom we cooperate on a daily basis - and to all researchers for their proficient collaboration with the Communication Office. This mutual recognition and acknowledgment underscore the importance of advancing our collective work, paving the way for continued success.
