Inês Teixeira do Rosário
ResearcherI received a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Lisbon (Faculty of Sciences) in 2013 and I am currently working in the Conservation Ecology & Society group at CE3C. My research focuses on people's relationship with biodiversity and nature, particularly in assessing people's perceptions of landscapes, biodiversity, and ecosystem services. Since 2014 I am involved with the European network eLTER (Long-Term Ecological Research), aimed at the long-term monitoring of socioecological parameters on a global scale. Within this network, I have particularly worked for the LTsER Montado platform (LTER Portugal) focusing on social-ecological research. I have been involved in several national and European projects under this scope and most of them in the montado landscape.
My current research is driven by two overarching objectives:
- Establish a harmonized and standardized approach for collecting socio-ecological data within the LTsER Montado platform, aiming to facilitate Portugal's integration into the future eLTER (ESFRI) network and contribute to long-term data collection at the European level.
- Explore citizens' engagement with biodiversity observation and recording to identify effective strategies for increasing participation. This involves understanding motivations behind species recording choices and exploring various factors influencing biodiversity data collection.
