I received a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Lisbon (Faculty of Sciences) in 2013 and I am currently working in the Conservation Ecology & Society group at CE3C. My research focuses on people's relationship with biodiversity and nature, particularly in assessing people's perceptions of landscapes, biodiversity, and ecosystem services. Since 2014 I am involved with the European network eLTER (Long-Term Ecological Research), aimed at the long-term monitoring of socioecological parameters on a global scale. Within this network, I have particularly worked for the LTsER Montado platform (LTER Portugal) focusing on social-ecological research. I have been involved in several national and European projects under this scope and most of them in the montado landscape.
