Joana Pereira has a MSc in Conservation Biology (2015; Lund University), and a PhD in Biology and Ecology of Global Change (BEGC) from the University of Lisbon (Portugal). Currently, Joana is working at BirdLife International in São Tomé and Príncipe as a Research and Príncipe Projects Officer. Her PhD (2018-2024) focused on human-wildlife interactions and livelihood vulnerability in the context of conservation in Mozambique. Joana´s research is on conservation social science and the human dimension of human-wildlife interactions.
She is currently collaborating with the activities of the research group Conservation Ecology and Society.
