Margarida Santos-Reis

I received a Ph.D. in Biosystematics and Ecology from the University of Lisbon in 1990. I am a professor of Ecology at the University of Lisbon. My research focuses on conservation ecology, landscape genetics, and ecosystem services.

For many years I have been involved in conservation ecology, with an emphasis on mammals (particularly carnivores). However, along the years my interests have expanded to themes more inter-disciplinary such as human-wildlife conflict, sustainability of the cork-oak ecosystem, conservation of Mediterranean landscapes, landscape genetics, and ecosystem services.
