Martim Baptista
MSc StudentI am currently a master’s student and grant research holder, helping in the management of the Entomological collections at the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MNHNC, Lisbon University) under the supervision of Dr. Roberto Keller.
My entomology journey began with beetle research, culminating in a master’s project where I delved into the ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) of Gorongosa National Park.
Since joining the museum I have developed a deep fascination with bee taxonomy (Hymenoptera: Anthophila). This passion grew as I extensively curated the Portuguese bee collection, leading me to further delve into the taxonomy of these insects. More recently, my focus has broadened to encompass Afrotropical bees by researching the museum's extensive African collections.
