I am currently a PhD student in the BIODIV doctoral program at CE3C, FCUL. I am interested in understanding if and how populations cope with variations in their environment, particularly from an evolutionary perspective. Within this subject, I am especially interested in the role of sexual selection on the adaptive process and, consequently, on population persistence, in particular, under this fast-paced changing environment. My PhD project will be conducted at both FCUL and Stockholm University under the supervision of Pedro Simões, Leonor R. Rodrigues and Rhonda Snook. With my project, we aim to analyse the role of mating systems on the evolution of thermal fertility. We hope that this work sheds light on the relevance of mating systems in shaping populations’ adaptation to rising temperatures.
