Experimental Evolution

Local Adaptation
I am a master student from the Evolutionary and Developmental Biology MSc at FCUL and I am currently doing my thesis in the MITE2 lab as part of Alex Blanckaert’s project and under his and Inês Fragata’s supervision. I am studying the “Evolution of Reproductive Isolation in two spider-mite species in the presence of local adaptation" by performing experimental evolution in two nascent species of spider-mites to follow how intrinsic and ecological reproductive barriers interact as they evolve.
