Ana Rita Cebola Garizo
Technician/Grant ResearcherI received a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and Biosciences from the University of Lisbon (Instituto Superior Técnico) in 2021. I am currently working in the Eco-Evo-Devo Group of CE3C as a research technician in the MultiE - Phenotypic plasticity in multifactorial environments project (Ref. PTDC/BIAEVL/0321/2021).
The main aim of this project is to characterize the effects of multi-factorial environments on phenotypic plasticity, including how these effects differ between phenotypic traits and between genotypes, and how they affect and are affected by microbes associated with the study organisms. To this end, our group has as study models the butterfly Bicyclus anynana and the fly Drosophila melanogaster, which are two complementary models of plasticity in insects. My role is to maintain these experimental populations and to assist in the daily activities carried out in the lab
