David Duneau
ResearcherI am an infection biologist focusing on understanding host-pathogen interactions across scales of biological organisation. My research determines the rules underlying the tight interactions between host immune response and pathogen proliferation, how different host environment impact pathogen behaviour, and how to predict the impact of unequal transmission among host groups on pathogen evolution. I have developed a comprehensive, interdisciplinary research program grounded in evolutionary theory, encompassing molecular biology, behavioural ecology, toxicology, phylogeny, as well as theoretical and statistical modelling. My work has encompassed a wide range of organisms, including but not limited to bacteria and Drosophila, as well as seabirds and humans.
