I received a Ph.D. in invasion biology from the University of Alcalá in 2099 and I am currently leading the / working in the Biological station of Doñana (EBD-CSIC) about drivers of biotic diversity. My research focuses on the mechanisms of maintenance of biodiversity and their consequences for ecosystem functioning. My current research is driven by three overarching objectives: How species interactions create opportunities for species to coexist, how communities provide a wide range of ecosystem functions, and how evolution change the relationships between coexistence and functioning.
