Francisco Dionisio has been an Associate Professor (with Habilitation) at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, since 2023. He is a member of the Genomics and Evolutionary Ecology of Microorganisms group. He has a PhD in Microbiology since 2000 from Université Paris VII Denis Diderot. His research focuses mainly on understanding the rise and spread of antibiotic resistance, from molecular genetics (e.g., plasmids) to psychological factors implicated in antibiotic use. In his research, Francisco Dionisio combines laboratory experiments with computational and mathematical models of evolution and ecology. He has been the Coordinator of the Master's in Molecular Biology and Genetics since 4/2019.
