I received a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of the Azores in 2009 and I am currently working in the Island Biodiversity, Biogeography & Conservation (IBBC) team, sub-group Island Coccinellidae Evolutionary Ecology. I am a hired PhD of the research project "ECO2-TUTA" (ACORES-01-0145-FEDER-000081) at the University of the Azores. My research focuses on Biological Control of T. absoluta, a major pest in tomato crops.
For many years I have been involved in Biology, Ecology, Evolutionary Ecology and Biological Control research using as model species, the ladybirds and aphid parasitoids.
My current research is driven by three overarching objectives: Biological control of Tuta absoluta, biology and ecology of T. absoluta, biology and ecology of biological control agents of T. absoluta.
