I received a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the NOVA University of Lisbon in 2008 and I am currently Associate Professor at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. I also collaborate with CE3C in project LandEX: “Improving Landscape resilience by integrating measures to adapt and mitigate hydrological Extremes”.
My current research is driven by three major goals: i) assessing the response of socio-hydrological systems to climatic variability in the Mediterranean; ii) evaluating the eco-hydrological response of forested landscapes to fire disturbances; and iii) developing new methodologies to simulate hydrological systems adapted to Mediterranean conditions.
