Alessandro Coutinho Ramos
External CollaboratorI received a PhD in Plant Science from the University of UNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL DO NORTE FLUMINENSE (UENF) in 2005, and I am currently working in the microbiology, soil biochemistry, plant physiology, ecophysiology and bioenergetics of plant-microorganism interaction and the Plant-Soil Ecology group of CE3C. I am a professor of Environmental Microbiology at the Vila Velha University, Brazil. My research focuses on Bioenergetics and signal transduction in the arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis; Microbial ecology in natural and anthropic ecosystems; Ecophysiology of plant and symbiont microorganism interactions; Bioremediation and recovery of areas contaminated with metals; Effect of iron particulate solid material on the benefit microbiota; Environmental microbiology, biomonitoring and ecosystem services.
I participated in different scientific projects with Lisbon University, bilateral (FCT-CAPES) and inter-institutional cooperation in Brazil. Regarding technical production I was production manager of Brazilian Journal of Plant Physiology and member of FAPES (Foundation for the Support of Science and Technology of Espírito Santo) Advisory Board in Life Sciences. In FAPES served as titular member and Advisory Board Coordinator in Agrarian Science, since 2012. In the period of 2008 to 2013 he was Titular II professor, permanent professor in the Postgraduate Program in Ecology of Ecosystems of Vila Velha University (UVV), in which he served as coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Ecology of Ecosystems from 2009 to 2012.
My current research is driven by the overarching objectives: i) Bioenergetics and signal transduction in the arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosys; ii) Microbial ecology in naturals and anthropic ecosystems; iii). Ecophysiology of plant and simbiont microorganism interaction; iv) Environmental microbiology, biomonitoring and ecosystem services; v) Scientific and Environmental Education.
