I hold a Doctorate in Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Development Policies/Sociology from the University of Lisbon. My post-doctoral research bridges interdisciplinary social sciences, sustainability, energy research, and data analytics, focusing on societal aspects of sustainability transitions. This includes social innovation, democratic innovations, and the active role of citizens in the energy transition. I have coordinated the H2020 project PROSEU (Mainstreaming Prosumers in the Energy Union) and currently lead the Horizon Europe project INCITE-DEM (Inclusive Citizenship in a World in Transformation: Co-Designing for Democracy).
Additionally, I am a principal researcher in other European projects such as JustWind4All, which focuses on the governance of a just transition. My research aims to deliver new knowledge for an inclusive socio-ecological transformation. I blend quantitative methods and data analytics with participatory approaches to enhance societal engagement in climate change mitigation and energy transformations.
