Bruno Faria da Cunha Barbosa Adorno
PhD StudentI hold a master's degree in the Environmental Sciences program from the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL, Brazil) and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Ecology and Natural Resources program at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar, Brazil). My research focuses on examining the impact of wildfires on taxonomic and functional diversity indices of bird communities within the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest. Additionally, I am involved in the development of a thematic map that evaluates fire risk across the entire Atlantic Rainforest biome.
During my Ph.D., I will be conducting research at the University of Lisbon, under the guidance of Dr. Pedro Gonçalves Vaz (FCUL, CE3C, eChanges group). This research falls under the project titled "Effects of land cover on fire occurrence patterns in the Atlantic Rainforest", which is supported by funding from the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - Brasil (CAPES; Oct 2023 - Mar 2024) - Finance code 001.
