Summary:
The project will study trophic plasticity in individuals, populations and communities at the edges of a 2500 km latitudinal gradient between Southern Portugal (38° N) and Southern Sweden (56º N). We aim to develop a comprehensive study of temperature and nutrient interactions on individual fitness, to flesh out the physiological pathways involved in temperature-induced dietary shifts, assessing the potential contribution of gut microbiota, and to examine the impacts on natural communities.
Funding Institution:
Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, Portugal).
