Bishwajit Roy is conducting a Ph.D. in Environmental Science under the Doctoral Programme of Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies by the University of Lisbon starting in 2017 within the Climate Risk Management RG of CE3C. He is conducting the project on Sea level rise impacts and adaptation measures in coastal areas of Bangladesh, under the supervision of Dr Gil Pessanha Penha Lopes, CE3C and Dr. Tiago Capela Lourenço, CE3C.
His project aims are:
1. Exploring the impacts and effects of different climate hazards on the coastal areas’ ecosystems and livelihood activities;

future SLR at local level considering different RCP scenarios from IPCC AR5 report
(Wong et al., 2014) and RCP 8.5 High End (HE) Scenario developed by Jackson and
Jevrejeva (2016);
3. Exploring the perceptions of local communities from Banishanta and Sutarkhali
Unions about current SLR induced impacts and adaptation and coping measures practiced for different livelihood activities, and;
